We currently publish articles in English, Spanish, Italian, French, and German. Each story is rewritten at two difficulty levels — A1 and B1 — and you can pair it with any of the other languages as your translation panel. More languages and levels join the rotation as we expand.

We follow the CEFR scale. A1 is “just starting out”, B1 is “comfortable with everyday material.” Articles are rewritten by editors at each level, not just simplified by machine, so the A1 version reads as a real article and not a fragmented summary.

Free gives you three new articles a day, in any language or level, and anything you have opened stays yours to re-read. LeftLingo Plus removes the daily limit and adds whole-article audio. See the pricing page for the full comparison.

We curate stories from public news sources, then have them rewritten by professional editors at each CEFR level. We don’t republish the original wire-service text — what you read is a level-tuned retelling of the news, written for learners.

Sentence-level translations are generated by a sentence-aligned machine-translation pipeline (LaBSE for sentence pairing plus professional MT for the text itself), with editor review on low-confidence pairs. Word-level breakdown uses a UD-standard tokenizer plus a contextual gloss step. Anything you flag as wrong gets routed to an editor for review.

The web reader is responsive and works well on phones. A native mobile app is on the roadmap; we’ll announce it when it’s ready.

You can cancel any time from your subscription management portal. Your access stays live through the end of the current billing period.
